The Florida Atlas of Lakes is a component of the Wateratlas.org portal that features 600 plus Florida LAKEWATCH lakes and provides a customized ArcIMS mapping functionality for all lakes listed in the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) for Florida. The atlas includes special tools to allow the download of LAKEWATCH data from a specific sample site or lake.This project is currently in its design, development, and implementation stage. Educational materials and “Learn Mores” will be provided to enhance citizen understanding of lake water quality and the activities which can lead to enhancement of lake water quality once the project is implemented. Additional materials will be provided to facilitate aquatic plant education including invasive plants and invasive plant management practices.
